THE
CATHOLIC EUCHARISTIC CHRIST IS NOT THE BIBLICAL
CHRIST AND THE EUCHARISTIC SACRIFICE IS NOT THE
SACRIFICIAL ATONING BLOOD OF CHRIST
|
|
In his Apr.-May 2005 "Jack Van Impe Presents" TV broadcasts, the noted religious TV host declared that Pope John Paul II's message was "redemption through Jesus Christ" and the Biblical message of salvation "by the blood of the Lamb." He also clearly implied that this is the message Roman Catholicism now proclaims. |

THE
CROSS TO WHICH POPE JOHN PAUL II ADHERED
|
| In
his Internet column, Understand the Times, Roger Oakland penned a
column entitled "Pope John Paul II and the Cross" in which he
stated that John Paul died during the ecclesiastical year he had personally
designated as "The Year of the Eucharist"-Oct. 2004-2005. Oakland
noted that the "pope's objective for doing this was to challenge the
faithful to focus on the Jesus who is still on the cross-the Eucharistic
Christ." "This Eucharistic Jesus is the Catholic Jesus whose presence supposedly appears following the consecration of the bread, and then is offered as an unbloody sacrifice. This is called the Blessed Sacrament. Only Roman Catholics can receive the Blessed Sacrament. Further, transubstantiation requires a Roman Catholic Priest. It is apparent then, that this Roman Catholic Jesus is not the same Jesus who said 'It is finished' when he died upon the cross." |

THE
[R.C.] EUCHARIST
|
| The
following is an article entitled "The Eucharist" by Ron Cowan,
editor of the Faith and Freedom Sentinel, that appeared in his April
2005 paper on p. 8. Because of its significance, the F.D. editor is reprinting
it in its entirety. "The Word of God is blasphemed by the satanic teaching of the Eucharist, changing the Lord's supper from a memorial observance to a sacrament, a repeated sacrifice of Christ for sin. Every time the words of consecration are used, the natural body and blood of Jesus is mystically present in the form of bread and wine (cannibalism). The repeated 'sacrifice' denies the finished work of Christ's sacrifice on the cross. If Catholic priests can offer an acceptable sacrifice, then Christ our High Priest is robbed of His glory. It exalts sinful men into the position of mediators between God and men. The elements of bread and wine are exalted to a position of honor and veneration that is not warranted in Scripture. Such idolatry denies the true nature of Christ's body and human nature. If the body, born of the Virgin Mary, can be in multiple places at the same time, then it is not a body like that of our own, and Jesus is not the 'second Adam' of Scripture. Jesus is not in all the masses said worldwide, but is seated at the throne in heaven, his propitious sacrifice fulfilled. When Jesus instituted the memorial supper, He took bread and broke it symbolizing the breaking of His body by cruel beatings and stripes. This symbolism is eradicated by Rome's round shaped wafer disk. Bread does not break into round pieces. The round wafer of Rome is of pagan origin. The round wafer is a symbol of the SUN in Baal (a fertility god, an idol) worship. It was used in the pagan religion of Mithraism (the Persian god [idol] of 'light and truth.') The round 'cakes' were used in pagan worship in Egypt, where in 1854, an ancient temple in Egypt was discovered with inscriptions showing round cakes on an altar. Above the altar is a large image of the SUN. Near Babain, Egypt is a temple with the sun symbol above its altar with two priests shown worshipping. In Peru (South America), this same image is worshipped. Even the Israelites, when they fell into Baal worship, set sun-images above their altars. The shape of the Catholic 'host' is influenced by sun-worship. Catholicism is a mixture of paganism, Judaism and Christianity. It is not Biblical and is not of God." PS: While it will be reiterated elsewhere, Pope John Paul II staunchly adhered to the continuing sacrifice of Christ on the cross as the necessary offering for sins. In a homily [Catholic sermon] he delivered at a mass offered at Logan Circle in Philadelphia, PA on Oct. 3, 1979, John Paul II stated "The sacrifice of Calvary is renewed on this altar, and it becomes our offering, too, an offering for the benefit of the living and the dead..." [Ed: Apparently John Paul never read Heb. 9:27-28, Heb. 1:3 or Heb. 10:10-12.] The Biblical Christ is not continuing to offer himself upon the cross via the pagan sacrifice of the Roman Catholic Eucharist. Genuine believers know that redemption is a totally divinely accomplished task, completed 2,000 years ago when Christ shed his blood in death on the cross-Rom. 3:24-25, Eph. 1:7. |
