THINGS SATAN DOES NOT OPPOSE By Pastor Chuck Nichols 1. The proliferation of Bible translations─variations of texts and translations only further his cause in undermining the authority of the Scripture and contribute to his efforts to cause confusion. 2. The involvement of New Testament local churches in secular and social programs. It has long served as an effective means of diverting churches away from evangelism and spiritual edification (salvation and sanctification). 3. The separating of Christian ministries from the New Testament local church, the pillar and the ground of the truth, thereby better positioning them for his causing them to drift from their original Biblical objective, to diminish their Biblical separation and stand to accommodate a broader base, and to deviate from God’s agenda through the local New Testament church. 4. The formation of local churches into organized bodies (denominations, conferences, associations, etc.) where he can promote moderation and entice men with selfish ambitions for power to manipulate themselves into leadership positions and be used to lead the whole group into unwholesome entanglements and into apostasy. 5. The local New Testament church that lets the quantity of members take precedence over the quality of members. He knows that church growth merely for numbers sake will undermine the theocratic democracy and lead to apostasy. 6. The church that seeks to attract people by means of amusement (entertaining), amazement (emotionalism), or aggrandizement (worldly promotionalism) rather than by faithful Biblical preaching and practice. 7. The local church that will become infatuated with one doctrine and neglect the preaching and teaching of the whole counsel of God, (Acts 20:27) thereby opening the door for grievous wolves to enter in among the sheep. 8. The Christian or local church that will put human reasoning or human experience over the authority of the Word of God. 9. The Christian or local church that will join hands with known compromisers, apostates, and/or heretics in a common spiritual or moral objectives or agendas (Jehosaphat─II Chronicles 18:3 cf. 19:1-2) |
