Do the Scriptures Teach there will be Demonic Originated Creatures In the Tribulation Period Who Combine Animal & Human Traits? Are Such Creatures a Near Distinct Possibility?

THE SCRIPTURE PROPHECY CONCERNING SUCH CREATURES

In Rev. 9:7-10, these demonic creatures combine both animal and human traits in their physical appearance. These locusts have shapes like horses, tails like scorpions and teeth like lions, but they also have faces similar to male human beings and hair like real human females.

According to Rev. 9:11, the ruling king of these demonic animal-human hybrids is none other than Satan himself, there called the "angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue hath his name Apollyon." The Hebrew and Greek words both mean "destroyer," an obvious reference to Satan, the master destroyer (I Peter 5:8).

Until recently, unbelieving Biblical critics have derided the Rev. chapter nine activity as a mythical science fiction scenario. But in just the past few years, with the actual cloning of animals, and with illegal human embryonic cell cloning research now occurring in various scientific laboratories, the possibility of animal-human hybrids no longer appears to be a far fetched fantasy.

THE POTENTIAL PRODUCTION OF SUCH CREATURES IN THE NEAR-FUTURE

In its July 16, 2007 edition (A-ll), The Boston Globe printed a three column article entitled "The Chimera Question" that contained large inset words "What Rights Should Animal-Human Hybrids Possess?" This startling article declared that the "creation of human-animal chimeras [hybrids] represents a valuable experimental tool that could revolutionize science and medicine."

The article author, Virek Ramaswarmy, "a recent Harvard College graduate," stated that once this "human-animal embryonic chimera" is created that "one should treat" this recipient of transferred humanity with the same level of respect as an organism with inborn humanity—in other words a human being, even if an organism does not appear to be fully human in biological terms, it nonetheless deserves the moral value of a human being, as long as it possesses the qualities that our society has deemed worthy of human respect."

FORESHADOWS OF THE FUTURE

This Harvard College graduate probably doesn’t realize it, but the animal-human hybrid [chimera] possibility he poses is a definite foreshadow of the demonic creatures predicted in Rev. 9. The writer personally believes that these created "locust" beings of Rev. 9 will possess the properties of soul [consciousness] and physical body, but lack eternal spirits, though they could be some of the former angels, now fallen spirits, who are presently performing Satan’s bidding.

The scientific experiments now occurring should motivate believers into "Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ" (Titus 2;13), and seeking to reach unconverted souls before the Rapture seals their eternal destiny (II Tim. 2:24-26, II Thess. 2:7-11).
