CHECKING THE MUSIC TRENDS
"Bible" Church plans to Establish "Rock & Roll" Churches with Help of Newly "Converted" Sensual Rock Star

At "three separate services" of the "Valley Bible Fellowship Church," that featured an "estimated 10,000 churchgoers," Brian "Head" Welch, the guitarist with the "Korn" rock group, announced his departure from that rock band. The services were purportedly a "Christian coming-out party" for the noted rock star who appeared at the services with his long hair, jeans, a T-shirt and new religious tattoos on his neck.
After the services, Welch was headed for a trip to Israel, after which, according to the news release, he "plans to launch a solo career" and to assist "Valley Bible Fellowship's plan to build 'rock and roll churches' around America."
The F.D. editor does not know about the genuineness/hypocrisy of Welch's reported conversion experience, trusting that it was Biblically authentic. It is not sound spiritual common sense, however, to take novices and make them instant public Christian heroes. Furthermore, the church's intent plan to create "rock and roll" churches has no Scriptural basis, but is strongly condemned in the Word of God: Rom. 12:1-2, Eph. 5:7 & 11, I John 2:15-17, James 4:4 and numerous other passages!

A Gospel Song that Includes "Explicit" Lyrics?
While the above title may sound totally incredible, a so-called gospel song that contains such morally offensive language is now on the religious market. Kanye West, a gospel "rapper" recently recorded a CD called "The College Dropout" that includes a song entitled "Jesus Walks." According to the news article, the song's lyrics were so offensive that the song was removed from any award consideration for the "prestigious gospel Stellar Awards."
The Stellar nominating committee stated that "some of the songs on the CD contain explicit lyrics," and that "the CD carries an explicit warning symbol on its cover." Believe it or not, West's so-called Christian music is part of what the CCM [Christian Contemporary Music] market calls "Holy Hip Hop."
According to one of its advocates, Marlowe F. Smith, music minister at the First Cathedral, his flawed rationale for this inappropriate activity in Christ's name is that "the young people enjoy it" and they are able "to gain the people" by using this sordid method.
Giving them what they want, however, is not God's Bible plan. Rather, it is giving them what they need (Acts 20:27). The following quote may not be grammatically correct, but it is Scripturally sound that "what you win them by, is what you win them to!" Fleshly, sensual sounds produce fleshly sensual saints! (II Cor. 10:3-4).
Church Uses Violent Videos as Outreach Tool
The "Red Rocks Church in Golden, [CO] uses "two televisions, eight controllers, and two Xboxes to accommodate up to eight video game players at a time" as a supposed "Xbox evangelism" tool. Scott Bruegman, the pastor of the Red Rocks Church said that the church uses "H2, a first-person shooter game that is rated 'M (for mature) and features blood and gore, violence, and even some bad language" because it is a "great way to build relationships that could lead to conversations about Jesus Christ."
Once the boundaries of Biblical separation are eliminated and the fence gate against the ungodly world torn down, there is no limit to the foolish extent carnal based ministries will go in their endeavors to wed worldly sinners to worldly saints! The Biblical goal is not to imitate the world, but to inoculate with the Word-John 17:17.           D.J.
