LITERATURE TO CONSIDER

The Reese Chronological Bible-KJV is one of the most helpful study Bibles any serious Bible student could ever possess. Unquestionably, It should be a part of every aspiring Christian’s library. Including every word of the KJV text and clearly delineating the historic dispensational system of Bible interpretation, this unique Bible presents the entire Biblical record from a chronological time scope, as the Scriptural events occur.
For instance, the record of creation in Genesis chapters one-two includes passages from the Gospel of John chapter one, Psalm 90, Jeremiah 4 and Isaiah 45. The excellent time-line date system is based on Frank Klassen’s 10 year study entitled “The Chronology of the Bible.” Reader will particularly appreciate the careful correlation of the life of Christ, as well as the sequential time accounts of the ministries of Paul and Peter.
The extra hard cover and strong binding make it a Bible that will pass the endurance test for many years. Also, all Biblical passages are inset in block form within each page contents for further simple comprehension. The simplicity of format, however, does not imply lack of solid Biblical content, the excellent substance being the most important aspect of the book.           $12.00, plus 25% S & H. Order from Shalom Baptist Church, Dr. Harry E. Carr, 3400 Morgan Rd., Orion, MI 48359; 248-391-2928.
Faithful Baptist Witness by Dr. Phil Stringer is another timely treatise by this prolific Baptist administrator that will greatly enlighten fundamental Baptist church members about their rich historical heritage. Many Baptists today know very little about the historical background of local N. T. churches throughout the centuries. When read, this treatise can help fill that void.
While the author does not take the view that one must prove a successive line to validate genuine Baptist credentials, he clearly demonstrates that there has always been a spiritual kinship of believers/churches down through the centuries who were truly Baptist in doctrinal essence and practice. In this outstanding volume, Dr. Stringer deals both with Baptist heritage and Baptist distinctives. The 272 page book contains 32 brief chapters, each dealing with a segment of Baptist doctrine and Baptist history.
In the editor’s opinion, every deacon in a Baptist church should possess this book and every fundamental Baptist pastor should consider making this book required reading for deacons. $12.00, plus 25% S & H. Order from Landmark Baptist Press, 222 E. Hinson Ave., Haines, City, FL 33844; phone: 1-800-700-5422.
